Q: Does the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) apply if we want to call members directly?

A: No, the TCPA only applies when using autodialing software. Remember, the TCPA applies to text messages as well as phone calls. If you need to contact a member by manually dialing the phone number you have on file, you may certainly do so, but always consider any contact preferences provided by the member, as applicable.
